More than $100,000 raised at Fiesta 2022 will go directly toward empowering children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Honduras.
More than 200 supporters of our Mountain of Light gathered at St. Charles Preparatory School in Bexley for the annual Fiesta gala. It featured a silent auction, dinner, Bids for Kids, video updates from Honduras and an opportunity for fellowship.
During the gala, Diana Short received the Exceptional Volunteer Award for her years of service on the Fiesta Committee as well as her behind-the-scenes work that is vital to MdL’s daily operations.
Executive Director Anna Jackson gave an update on MdL’s evolving mission in Honduras. The project began more than 20 years ago as a hospice for children dying of AIDS. Lifesaving medications then allowed MdL to transform into a group home. Now, MdL is moving toward creation of a Community Resource Center that will serve existing young people and families plus the larger community.
